Who Should Avoid Dermal Fillers?
Do not receive Juvéderm® injectable gel fillers if you have a history of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) or if you are allergic to lidocaine or the proteins (Gram-positive bacterial proteins) used in the production of hyaluronic acid.
The Restylane® family of products should not be used by individuals who:
Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 22 years of age
Have recently used blood-thinning medications or drugs that affect clotting
Have a history of severe allergies, particularly to Gram-positive bacteria
Have experienced serious drug allergies that required hospital treatment
Have a bleeding disorder
Are allergic to lidocaine
Sculptra® is not recommended if there is an infection or inflammation in the treatment area, or if you are prone to hypertrophic scars or keloid formation. It is also not suitable for individuals with a history of anaphylaxis or those currently taking blood thinners.
